Chester C. 'Chuck' Carl Jr. Sept. 4, 1947 - March 1, 2009
APPLETON --Chester Charles "Chuck" Carl Jr., 61, of Appleton, died Sunday at the Ortonville Hospital following a long battle with cancer.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First English Lutheran Church in Ortonville. Spring burial will be at Mound Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements with Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton.
He was born Sept. 4, 1947, in Appleton to Chester and Irene (Hill) Carl. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1965. He also played independent basketball for the Appleton Indies and amateur baseball for the Ortonville Rox, including the 1969 state tournament.
He was married Cheryl Trebil on June 13, 1970, in Ortonville. They lived north of Correll and he was a lifelong farmer. He raised livestock with his father, they sold Pioneer seed corn and raised registered quarter horses. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of Correll; two children: Chester Carl III and Michelle Carl, both of Ortonville; mother of Correll; two sisters: Patricia (and Chuck) Korstjens of Big Stone City, S.D., and Joan (and George) Korstjens of Correll.
He was preceded in death by his father.
