According to a news release from Yellow Medicine County Sheriff Bill Flaten, Aaron Dean Ohlson was arrested after the investigation and interviews by the State Fire Marshal and the Sheriff's Office revealed that fire had been deliberately set.

The fire, at 4463 240th Avenue, was reported around 11:15 p.m. Monday. The Clarkfield fire and ambulance departments, along the Granite Falls Ambulance and Sheriff's Office, responded. Once the blaze was extinguished, the cause appeared suspicious, so the Fire Marshal was called and the investigation led to Ohlson.
