GRANITE FALLS -- Clifford William Fred Roth, 83, of Granite Falls died Friday morning at Madison Hospital.
The service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Burial with military honors will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls and one hour before the service at the church.
He was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Madison to Oscar and Louise (Streich) Roth. He graduated from high school in Madison in 1944. He farmed with his father and brother, Leonard, northwest of Madison and served in the U.S. Army as a corporal from 1951 to 1952 stationed in Germany.
He married Lois Johnson on May 23, 1954, in Madison. In 1960, they left the farm and moved to Granite Falls where he worked for a year and half at the Gambles Store. He then began work for Victor Fluid Power as a cylinder tester where he worked for 28 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a lifetime member of the Montevideo American Legion and VFW and was a member of Granite Falls Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; children: Garry (and Barbara) Roth of Warren, Penn., Kelly Roth of Renville and Joyce (and Mike) Rakowski of Brainerd; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three siblings in infancy, two brothers and one sister
