WILLMAR -- A proposal to reconstruct a section of County State Aid Highway 26 in Green Lake Township will get a public review during an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Kandiyohi County Public Works Office in Willmar.
The county is proposing to make minor re-alignment changes to a section of the east-west road near Eagle Lake, extending from County State Aid Highway 9 to 410 of a mile east of Kandiyohi County Road 127.
The roadway will also be widened and slopes flattened during the process.
A recreation trail will also be incorporated with the road construction, running along the north side of County Road 26 from County Road 9 to the existing Department of Natural Resources trail.
The open house in an opportunity for the public to ask questions about the project.
"We are on a very concentrated design schedule to get the project ready for construction next year," Kandiyohi County Public Works Director Gary Danielson said. "The more information we can gather early in the design process, the better our chances will be to complete the grading portion before next winter.
Those unable to attend the open house can view the plan at the office from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
