Coaches Engle, Miller named Cardinal Pride 2011 HOF inductees
Elaine Engle and Hal Miller are the 2011 inductees into the Cardinal Pride Hall of Fame, the sports-booster organization has announced.
The induction dinner is 4:30 p.m. at the American Legion prior to the homecoming game. Ticket information will be released later.
Engle helped establish girls interscholastic sports at Willmar High School starting in the late 1960s. Her girls golf program, which she started, won seven Central Lakes Conference titles and the school's first-ever state team championship.
Miller coached boys tennis for 17 years and girls tennis for 26 years. His girls tennis teams compiled a 377-154 record including 15 top-two finishes in the CLC. His boys teams were 174-119 with a CLC title and three second places.
