College baseball: Warriors drop two to M-State

FERGUS FALLS — The Ridgewater baseball team played a tough game one, losing in the bottom of the seventh inning, but then fell by the 10-run rule in game two to M-State in Fergus Falls on Wednesday.

The Warriors lost 5-4 in game one and 13-3 in game two. They are 1-9 overall and are scheduled to play doubleheaders at Riverland on Saturday and at Minnesota West on Sunday.

In game one, starter Trenton Berg went the distance, allowing just one earned run and striking out five. Riley Carpenter had two hits and Erich Prokosch singled in two runs in the Warriors’ four-run second inning.

In game two, M-State jumped the Warriors early, scoring nine runs in the first two innings, then tacking on four in the fifth and sixth innings to wrap it up early.

Berg had two hits in the second game and Prokosch was 1-for-3. Dan Blackstad took the loss.
