College baseball: Warriors split with Rochester

Shane Trattles was the winner and the loser on Sunday as the Ridgewater pitcher lost Game 1 of a doubleheader in relief and won Game 2 with a complete game as a starter.

The Warriors fell to Rochester 6-5 in the first game and won 5-2 in Game 2.

They improved to 2-6 in the MCAC South and are 8-14 overall.

Ridgewater is at Anoka-Ramsey for a doubleheader 2 p.m. Tuesday in Coon Rapids.

Ridgewater took an early 3-0 lead, but two unearned runs in the fifth inning and an Arik Jacquardt home run in the sixth sparked Rochester's comeback.

Jarrod Holmgren started for the Warriors and Shane Trattles pitched the sixth inning and gave up one run for the loss.

Zach Fischer was 2-for-3 and Jason Shaul was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Shane Trattles, after taking the loss in Game 1, came back and pitched a complete game three-hitter in Game 2 to give the Warriors the win.

Trattles struck out four and allowed one earned run.

Mike Nielsen provided the offense for Ridgewater with RBI doubles in the second and seventh innings.

Jordan Ruter was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored.
