WILLMAR -- Ryan Speltz survived a pitcher's duel and Ridgewater overcame being outhit 14-9 in the other game Sunday as the Warriors remained unbeaten in the Central Division of MCAC play by sweeping a doubleheader from St. Cloud Technical College.

The Cyclones opened the twin bill by touching Ridgewater starter Chris Braaten for 14 hits. But the sophomore didn't issue a walk and limited the Cyclones to five runs in a complete-game performance, allowing the Warriors to earn an 11-5 win.

Speltz and former St. Cloud State University walk-on Ryan Helgeson both gave up just one hit, but an errant pickoff attempt allowed Ridgewater to pull even with the Cyclones before the Warriors plated another run in their 2-1 win in the second game.

Both teams were scheduled to play Saturday in St. Cloud, but rain forced a postponement and that doubleheader will be played today starting at 3 p.m. at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud.

Luke Frauendienst, Shane Kampsen and Kelvin Nelson had two hits apiece in the opener to help Ridgewater overcome a four-run second inning from St. Cloud.

Ridgewater plated four runs of its own in the third to take a 6-4 lead when Kampsen, Matt Christensen and Austen Hadley hit RBI singles and Christensen scored on a wild pitch.

Another five runs in the sixth iced the win. Nelsen and Clint Aretz hit RBI doubles to highlight the frame.

Brett Savelkoul, a freshman from Paynesville, went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs for the Cyclones.

A two-out double from Chris Lardy in the second gave St. Cloud a 1-0 lead in the second game. Ridgewater tied it in the bottom half when Nelson reached on a fielder's choice, moved to third on a botched pickoff attempt and scored on Mike Weber's single.

Frauendienst scored the go-ahead run in the third after reaching on an error, stealing second, advancing to third on Benji Hager's groundout and coming home on Kampsen's flyout.

Speltz fanned eight, including the last batter of the game after catcher Cameron Lehner threw out a runner at second trying to steal.
