WILLMAR -- After trailing by two at halftime, the Ridgewater College Warriors shot just 21 percent the second half and were crushed by Riverland College of Austin 76-63 on Saturday in MCAC South Division play.

Taylor Morgan, the Blue Devils' 6-3 post, led all scorers with 29 points.

Neil Helgeson scored 18 points and Jordan Schwarz 13 for Ridgewater, who will host Dakota County Tech at of Inver Hills at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

WILLMAR -- The Ridgewater Lady Warriors dropped a MCAC South Division basketball game to Riverland on Saturday 80-63.

Rebeka Aase, a 6-2 guard from Austin playing for the college in her home town, hit 9 of 16 shots from the floor and 4 of 4 at the line for 22 points. Guard Cassie Masberg added 19 points, canning 10 of 11 free throw tries.

The Lady Warriors were led by wing Shantel Kelly with 18 points followed by center Cameo McNeley with 16 and wing Alicia Koenen with 12. Koenen sank 3 of 6 three-point attempts.

Both teams shot 40 percent from the floor but Ridgewater lost the battle of the boards 56 to 35 and were outscored at the free-throw line 19 to 5.
