The Warriors (3-2) matched the Voyageurs (1-4) with 43 points in the second half, but it wasn't enough to erase a 40-32 deficit from the first half.

"They're a very athletic team," Warriors head coach Bob Knutson said. "They came out fast and hard. They had a little run at the end of the first half.

"We played them even in the second half," he said. "We played a real good last 10 minutes."

Zak Pendleton led the Warriors with 16 points. Neil Helgeson had 10 points and 4 steals, and Terrence Lockett posted a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds.

Ridgewater outrebounded Rainy River 62-48, but the Warriors shot just 34 percent from the field (30-for-88) and were only 13-for-23 from the free throw line.

Jeff Romeus paced Rainy River with 28 points and 5 steals.

The Warriors play 3 p.m. today at Hibbing Community College.
