College Cross Country: Ruter, Eggers, Siefert finish strong at MIAC meet

Hamline senior Brendan Ruter of New London-Spicer took fifth in the MIAC Men's Cross-Country Championships Saturday at Como Park. The Pipers placed fifth in the 12-team field.

Gustavus Adolphus sophomore Kate Eggers, top photo, from Montevideo, ran third on her team and 10th overall for the first-place Gusties women, who finished three points up on St. Olaf. Junior Kathryn Stalnaker, from MACCRAY, placed 30th overall for the sixth-place Cobbers.

St. Thomas sophomore CJ Siefert, from Willmar, placed 20th, while running second for the Tommies men's team, which finished second to first-place St. Olaf, whose sixth runner was junior Stefan Lemke, from Morris, in 30th place.
