College Football: Former Montevideo youth starring for Air Force

Air Force linebacker Alex Means, who spent his early years in Montevideo, was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against New Mexico last Saturday.

Means racked up 10 tackles, a sack, a 65-yard pick 6 and 1.5 tackles for loss in Air Force's 28-23 win over New Mexico.

The 6-5, 245-pound senior, who graduated from Mankato East, ranks sixth in the Mountain West with 7.9 tackles per game. Means leads the Falcons with 6.5 tackles for loss, six pass breakups and two interceptions. He is second on the team with 55 tackles.
