College football: Playoffs set for MCAC in new eight-team format

For the first time the MCAC junior-college football playoffs will involve eight teams instead of four.

The first round on Saturday is North and South intra-divisional play.

No. 3S Ridgewater College is at 2S Rochester (1:30 p.m.); No. 4 Minnesota West, Worthington, plays at 1S Central Lakes, Brainerd; 3N Itasca, Grand Rapids, visits 2N Northland College of Thief River Falls and 4N Vermilion of Ely travels to 1N Fond du Lac of Cloquet.
