College football: Ridgewater NO. 1 in MCAC football poll

For the first time in Rob Baumgarn's seven-year head coaching career, the Ridgewater Warriors have ascended to the top rung of the MCAC football coaches poll.

The Warriors (4-0) will play No. 2 Minnesota West (4-0) 6 p.m. Saturday at Hodapp Field in a meeting of the only two unbeaten remaining in the MCAC.

Central Lakes, Brainerd, ranks third, Rochester fourth and Northland, Thief River Falls, is fifth.

Minn West is ranked 18th nationally. Ridgewater also received votes.

The Ridgewater volleyball team, two-time defending national champions, have been ranked No. 1 since preseason in NJCAA DIII.
