College Hockey: Michigan Tech beats Minnesota 3-2 in OT
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Brett Olson scored 33 seconds into overtime Friday as Michigan Tech beat Minnesota 3-2 in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game.
Olson took the puck on a turnover at center ice and beat Minnesota goalie Kent Patterson on a break as the Huskies (9-7-1, 6-6-1) snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Golden Gophers (13-5-1, 10-3-0).
Blake Pietila and Steven Seigo also scored goals for Michigan Tech.
Jordan Baker assisted on Olson's game-winning goal. Each extended their point-scoring streaks to six games.
Mark Alt and Seth Helgeson had goals for the Gophers, who had 36 shots on goal to 26 by the Huskies. Alt also had an assist.
Patterson made 34 saves.
