College Men's Basketball: Ridgewater can't bounce back from rough 1st h

WILLMAR -- Once again, the Ridgewater men's basketball team was slow out of the gate and couldn't make up the difference, despite a strong second half.

The Warriors fell behind by 21 points at halftime and couldn't chip away enough in the second half and fell to Anoka-Ramsey 72-56 on Saturday.

The Warriors fell to 0-5 in the MCAC Southern Division and 6-13 overall. Anoka-Ramsey improved to 3-3 in the Southern Division and 13-6 overall.

Ridgewater scored just 21 first-half points, hitting just 8 of 31 (26 percent) from the floor, while Anoka-Ramsey was off to a 42-point first half.

The Warriors ramped up the offense in the second half, outscoring A-R 35-30, but couldn't get out of the deep hole.

Tyler Pendleton scored 19 points and had 6 rebounds for the Warriors.

Four Anoka-Ramsey players scored in double figures, led by J.J. Butler with 15 points. Corey Barrett had 13 points, 12 boards and he blocked 4 shots.

Ridgewater plays at Fergus Falls on Wednesday and at Central Lakes on Saturday.
