The Warriors finished in fourth place in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament and with a 36-12 overall record.

"We played really well," Ridgewater coach Todd Thorstad said. "We made things happen. Nothing to hold our heads down about."

After losing to Tompkins in the second round of the tournament Thursday, the Warriors moved to the consolation bracket where they beat DuPage 5-1 on Friday.

That win advanced them to the second round of consolation where they lost to Anne Arundel.

Haley Springer sacrificed her to third, and Shipman scored when the throw to third scooted past the third baseman.

The Warriors took the lead to the bottom of the seventh. A runner got on base with a fielder's choice, and with two outs Liz Cox hit an RBI-double to right-center to tie the game.

After two scoreless frames, Anne Arundel got two singles from Courtney Bardell and Elaine Nescin to lead off the tenth inning.

The Warriors then recorded two outs, but Bardell would score the winning run on an error.
