The Warriors return home today with a 5-2 record following a 12-3 win over Kishwaukee and an 11-0 loss to Kellogg.

“We beat all the (NJCAA) Division III teams were played and we split with the Division II teams,” said Warriors head coach Todd Thorstad. “Can’t complain about that.”

The Division III Warriors had a tough time against D-II Kellogg, managing seven hits in the five-inning game. Brooke Wuertz led Ridgewater with two hits but Tasha Dallman took her first loss of the season after opening with two victories.

The Warriors more than doubled their hitting output against Kishwaukee, banging out 15 hits.

Heather Horning got it done offensively and on the mound. She homered, doubled and drove in three runs, and she allowed three earned runs over seven innings and struck out five to run her record to 3-1.

Courtney Olson hit a solo home run and Haley Huls had two hits and drove in three runs. Brielle Hauge also had two hits and plated two runs.

“Overall, defensively, we did a nice job,” Thorstad said. “Offensively, we made a lot of contact, didn’t strike out a lot and we were smart and patient at the plate.”

The Warriors play three games on March 20 at the Rosemount Dome in Rosemount.
