College Softball: Warriors sweep Riverland

WILLMAR -- Andrea Krause and Brittney Nissen each threw a gem and the Ridgewater College fastpitch team took a pair from Riverland College of Austin 7-1 and 9-1 on Friday at College Field.
Krause threw a seven-inning six-hitter in the lidlifter; Nissen tossed a five-inning one-hitter in the second game.
Ridgewater improved to 11-3 in the MCAC Southern Division and 20-9 overall. Rochester is here at noon today for a pair of Southern games.
Game One
Ridgewater College 7, Riverland 1
Hayley Springer hit a solo home run over the centerfield fence leading off the sixth, her first college homer.
Datriana Jensen supplied an RBI single in the fourth and a two-run double in the fifth, when the Lady Warriors piled up four runs for a 6-0 lead.
Krause walked none and fanned five. Aimee Johnson doubled twice and singled.

Brooke Carlson poked a towering three-run homer over the centerfield fence in a five-run first, her second of the season.
Jenna Kincade lashed a two-run triple in the second to up the lead to 8-0. She singled in the team's last run in the fourth.
