College volleyball: Ridgewater takes out Bluejays in 3

WILLMAR -- The Ridgewater College Warriors finished a flawless 12-0 in the MCAC South and are 19-5 overall after sweeping Minnesota West of Worthington on Wednesday 28-26, 25-17, 15-14.

The Warriors will host the Region 13A Tournament on Oct. 26-27. Here are the first-round matchups: 6 p.m., No. 1 Ridgewater vs. No. 4 Western Technical College (Wis.) ... No. 2 MSCTC-Fergus Falls vs. No. 3 Rochester CTC.

"It was a great win to wrap up the regular season," said Ridgewater coach Joe Sussenguth of the victory over the Bluejays. "Twelve-and-0 in the South was one of our goals."

This weekend Willmar is at the Kishwaukee (Ill.) College Tournament where they will face a ranked Division II JUCO opponents in Owens (Ohio) CC (No. 16) and another tough team in Highland (Ill.) CC. Also in the field are ranked Division III opponents Rock Valley, Ill. (No. 3) and Harper, Ill. (No. 5).
