WILLMAR — The Ridgewater Lady Warriors sacked Riverland Community College 25-10, 25-20, 25-13 on Saturday afternoon to improve to 5-1 in the MCAC South and 10-4 overall.

“This was a great win in our conference home opener,” said Ridgewater College head coach Joe Sussenguth. “We were able to run our offense successfully [but] I’m concerned by our lack of discipline behind the service line. Fifteen misses is inexcusable. That’s too many points to give the other team.”

The win moves the Lady Warriors closer to qualifying for the regional tournament.

Ridgewater kill leaders against Riverland (1-4, 1-13) during its Homecoming match were Tracy Braaten with 9, Tegan VanMoer with 7 and Jen Puncochar and Hailey Osland with 5 each. Tiffany Karbo had 30 assists to launch the offense.

Karbo also supplied 3 kills in 3 hits and 2 ace serves.
