The Warriors won 25-20, 25-21, 18-25 and 25-14.

Ridgewater improved 12-5 overall and 8-1 in the MCAC Southern Division and 12-5 overall. The Warriors entered the Fergus Falls match a game back of Rochester.

“This was a must-win for us in the division to keep pace with Rochester,” Ridgewater head coach Joe Sussenguth said. “I was concerned how we would bounce back after a bad loss at NDSCS last Friday.”

Fergus Falls dropped to 4-4 in the division and 12-11 overall.

Ridgewater’s Tegan VanMoer was a terror at the net, racking up 23 kills and just six hitting errors in 45 attempts for a .379 hitting percentage.

Hailey Osland had 8 kills and an ace block, Jen Puncochar had 7 and a block and Tracy Braaten put away 6 shots and blocked 2 shots.

Setter Tiffani Karbo set up 51 winners and had 8 digs. Taylor Sharpe served two of Ridgewater’s three aces and she led the team with 16 digs.

Despite the victory, Sussenguth said this year’s team is still searching for its identity.

“We still haven’t defined who we are as a team but in stretches we play at a very high level,” Sussenguth said. “Consistency is something that all teams strive for and we’ll continue to put in the work to do that.”

The Warriors return to the court to play Western Wisconsin at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Ridgewater.
