MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota women's basketball team has signed three homegrown recruits to national letters of intent.

Osseo's Mikayla Bailey and Eden Prairie teammates Jackie Johnson and Shayne Mullaney signed letters on Wednesday to commit to the program. They will join the Golden Gophers as freshmen next season.

Johnson and Mullaney helped the Eagles to a state runner-up finish last season. Johnson is the school's career leader in blocked shots and earned all-state honors as a junior. Mullaney is a 5-foot-10 guard and set an Eden Prairie record last year with 445 points for the season.

Bailey is a 5-foot-9 guard and defensive specialist who will be counted on to bolster the team's perimeter defense.

Gophers coach Pam Borton says all three will be ready to contribute right away in 2012.
