Ridgewater hit five more shots from the field and hit 11-of-14 free throws. But MW was sent to the line 31 times and dropped 21.

“The girls played their hearts out,” said Ridgewater head coach Carrie Ogdahl. “That may be the best 40 minutes of basketball we played this season. It’s too bad they couldn’t be rewarded with a ‘W’ ”

Rachel Ampe led the Warriors with 17 points and she also had 5 rebounds.

Courtney Kramer finished with 14 points and she grabbed 8 rebounds, and Jessie Kalenberg scored 13 points and pulled down 9 boards.

The Warriors, now 5-3 in the MCAC and 12-7 overall, still hold the No. 3 spot in the league’s Southern Division. The top four teams in each division make the playoffs.

Ridgewater plays host to Riverland at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
