Steinhaus helps Gophers win twice

Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg graduate Kevin Steinhaus won twice each by major decision as the Minnesota Golden Gopher wrestlers whipped Illinois on Friday 25-9 and Purdue on Sunday 40-0.

The No. 2-ranked Gophers improved to 4-0 in the Big Ten and 7-2 overall. Steinhaus, a sophomore, is ranked No. 7 at 184 pounds in NCAA Division I wrestling.

SJU's Hagen, Henle ranked in Division III

St. John's University junior wrestler Mitch Hagen, another KMS grad, stayed at No. 6 in the most recent NWCA 184-pound rankings but was unranked by D3wrestle.com after notching a 4-1 record at the National Duals last week. Hagen is 14-3 on the season.

Johnnies' senior Chad Henle of Spicer moved up to No. 9 at 133 pounds according to D3wrestle.com. Henle tallied a perfect 5-0 record at the National Duals to improve to 14-6 on the season.
