College Wrestling: Ridgewater routs Rochester, 30-12

ROCHESTER -- Ridgewater College won seven of 10 matches to level Rochester Community and Technical College 30-12 in a MCAC dual meet on Friday.

"Our kids wrestled hard every match," said Ridgewater coach Tom Beyer.

Rochester is ranked No. 3 in the NJCAA non-scholarship division.

Warrior wrestlers upset several ranked Yellowjackets.

Martin Hagen at 174 pinned No. 2 Ethan Hackbarth; Trent Molacek decisioned No. 8 Luke Evjen at 165.

Picking up majors were Jake Patnode, Tyler Stemper and Chase Tempel. Cody Kinney ended the match with a last-minute pin. Trevor Kruger won 5-4 at 149.

Ridgewater is at Iowa Lakes, Iowa, today to wrestler Ellsworth CC and Labatte (Kan.) CC. The latter is ranked fifth in the scholarship division.
