College Wrestling: Ridgewater's Peralta, Temple are All-American

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Travis Peralta took sixth place and Chase Temple eighth for the Ridgewater wrestling team at the NJCAA national tournament Saturday.

The Warriors finished fifth in the non-scholarship division with 30.5 points. Harper (Ill.) won the division and the overall national title with 137.

Peralta, at 174 pounds, went 1-1 in the championship bracket, then won his next four matches in the consolation bracket. He lost in the fifth-place match.

Temple, at 157 pounds, lost his first match of the tournament, then ran off three straight wins, including two by fall. He forfeited his seventh-place match.

Finishing in the top eight of their respective weight classes earned each wrestler All-American honors.
