Comedy on stage at The Barn Theatre
Willmar Minnesota 2208 Trott Ave. SW / P.O. Box 839 56201

The Barn Theatre presents "Twentieth Century" at 7:30 p.m. tonight through Saturday and Aug. 25-28.

The comedy takes place on a luxury train traveling from Chicago to New York. A washed-up director Oscar Jaffe, played by David Schuerman, runs into his former leading lady, Lily Garland, played by Kathy Orth, and tries to persuade her to return to Broadway.

Garland is also being pursued by another director, Max Jacobs, played by Rob Kruger, to sign a contract for his show.

There are several subplots with lots of conflict between the cast members and plenty of music. Terry Brunson is the train's conductor and he plays the piano in the club that lends to the 1930's feeling on the train.

Other cast members are Elizabeth Adamski, Bryan Orson, Jay Ellingson, Jamie Hobert, Bev Raske and Chris Myers.

The play is directed by Tom Orth with the set design by Chris McAninch. Costumes are by Judy Wangsness and Joanne Meierhofer. Lights and sound operator is Brandt Haglund.

Set crew members are Rick Meyer, Mike "Doc" Dockman, Bonnie Wilhelm and Larry Grahn.

Tickets are adults $15, students $8, contact The Barn box office at 320-235-9500 or visit The Barn Theatre at 321 Fourth St. S.W. in downtown Willmar.
