Ladies Only Kayaking -- Minnewaska Kayak will be holding Ladies Only Kayaking nights three nights per week at various locations: Tuesdays at Lake Agnes in Alexandria, Wednesdays at Sauk Lake in Sauk Centre and Thursdays at Lake Hassel north of Benson. Prairie Woods ELC
The following activities are offered by Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center. Register by calling PWELC, 354-5894 or e-mail at pwelc@wecnet.com. Discount available on all classes for members.
Open Climbing -- Indoor rock climbing wall. Saturdays from 9 a.m.-noon. Reservations required, please call by Thursday.
Sibley State Park
The Interpretive Center is open daily. All Sibley State park programs are lead by the park naturalist or visiting expert. They are at the Interpretive Center and are free unless otherwise noted. A vehicle permit is required to enter the park and they are available at the park office. For more information call 354-2002.
Trapper tales: 10:30 a.m. Sept. 27. Ken Olson will share his years in the great outdoors through the eyes of a trapper.
Whitetail Ways: 2 p.m. Sept. 27. Take an in depth look into the life and history of deer in the Sibley State Park area through a PowerPoint presentation.
Beginning winter bird feeding: 10 a.m. Sept. 28. Learn about foods, feeders, bird identification and behavior. Free bird feeder designs and information.
Autumn animal signs and stories: 10 a.m., Oct. 4. Beavers store food, birds migrate and chipmunks hibernate during winter. View the signs and hear the stories of animals preparing for winter.
Fall colors walk: 2 p.m., Oct. 4. Walk with a naturalist along a wooded trail and learn how sunlight, temperature, soil and leaves work together to produce fall colors.
