M1 Garand Shoot -- The Willmar Rifle/Pistol Club will hold its annual M1 Garand shoots on July 7 and Aug. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Eagle Lake Rifle Range. In the case of inclement weather, the matches will be held the next Tuesday. The cost is $10 for non-members and $8 for members. All rifles, ammunition, targets and instruction will be furnished by the range safety personnel.
Becoming an Outdoors Woman Shooting Sports Sampler -- Becoming and Outdoors Woman (BOW) will hold a Shooing Sports Sampler July 18 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center near Spicer. Women can learn new skills or practice shooting on the sporting clays range, rifle range, and Olympic and 3-D archery ranges alongside trained staff that can teach and guide you through each event. Birding and Wildlife for Families -- Becoming and Outdoors Woman (BOW) will hold a Birding and Wildlife for Families program Aug. 22 from 7-11 a.m. at Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center near Spicer. Bring your family and join a naturalist guide as you wander along the trails to observe birds and other wildlife. Learn the basics of equipment used for birding and wildlife observation. Sibley State Park
The Interpretive Center is open daily. All Sibley State park programs are lead by the park naturalist or visiting expert. They are at the Interpretive Center and are free unless otherwise noted. A vehicle permit is required to enter the park and they are available at the park office. For more information call 354-2002.
