M1 Garand Shoot -- The Willmar Rifle and Pistol Club will hold an M1 Garand Shoot Aug. 3 at the Eagle Lake Rifle Range, starting at 6:30 p.m. The events are open to the public. Shooters must be at least 18 years of age. The cost is $10 per shooter, $8 for WRPC members. Rifles are provided, or bring your own. Ammunition is supplied.

Prairie Woods ELC

The following activities are offered by Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center. Register by calling PWELC, 354-5894 or e-mail at pwelc@wecnet.com. Discount available on all classes for members.

Open Climbing -- Indoor rock climbing wall. Saturdays from 9 a.m.-noon. Reservations required, please call by Thursday.

Sibley State Park

The Interpretive Center's hours vary. Sibley State park programs are on the weekends at the Interpretive Center and are led by the park naturalist or visiting expert. A vehicle permit is required to enter the park and they are available at the park office. For more information call 320-354-2002. Loon, Minnesota's state bird: 2 p.m. July 10. Have you heard the "wail" of the loon and wished you knew more about Minnesota's state bird? Discover the calls of the loon, its habitat, food requirements and family life.

Butterflies, winged wildflowers: 10 a.m. July 10. Explore one of nature's most beautiful and graceful creatures while observing some of the more than 54 different butterflies in Sibley.

Snakes of Sibley: 7 p.m. July 10. Join the naturalist enter into the snake's world with this live snake demonstration.

Minnesota's State Symbols: 11 a.m. July 11. Find out how the Minnesota state bird, flower and even muffin came to be during this PowerPoint presentation and discussion program.
