ALEXANDRIA -- Cora Wollwage, 84, of Alexandria died Tuesday at the Bethany Home in Alexandria.
The service was Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooten. Burial was at Trinity Cemetery in Brooten.
Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
She was born Nov. 29, 1922, near Brooten to Thomas and Ella (Lukkasson) Bakko. She grew up on a farm near Brooten and in the Grove Lake area. In 1941, she graduated from Glenwood High School. She worked as a waitress, in a grocery store and as a nurse's aide.
She married Joe McDermond in 1942.
She married Orville Wollwage in 1960. She was a homemaker.
She was active in church and Bible study.
She is survived by three sons: Gene (and Ruth Ann) McDermond of Spicer, Patrick (and Alina) McDermond of Bloomington, Curtis McDermond of Hoffman; three daughters: Lana (and Gene) Kotzenmacher of Alexandria, Luan (and Matt) Fisher of Annandale, Lori (and Mike) DeRoo of St. Michael; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother: Clifford (and Phyllis) Bakko of Ft. Meyers, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Orville; son: Joseph "Sonny"; and a sister.
