County Road 4 railroad crossing reopens; detour continues on Lake Andrew Township road
WILLMAR - Work has been completed on the railroad crossing on Kandiyohi County Road 4, south of U.S. Highway 12 near Atwater.
The road is now open to traffic.
Meanwhile, the replacement of a culvert on County Road 38 near Lake Andrew and Sibley State Park in the New London has also been completed but a section of the road is still closed to through traffic while regrading of the road continues.
According to the Kandiyohi County Public Works Department office in Willmar, construction will continue for eight-tenths of a mile on County Highway 38, north of County Highway 40.
Through traffic will be diverted west on County Road 40, north on County Road 5 and east on state Highway 9.
Construction on the County Road 38 project is scheduled to be complete in July.
Minnerath Construction Inc. of Cold Spring, is the prime contractor for the project.
Motorists are reminded to slow down for their safety and the safety of the workers as construction continues.
