Crash near Sacred Heart, Minn., sends both vehicles into drainage ditch
SACRED HEART -- Minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon near Sacred Heart.
The Renville County Sheriff's Office was called about 5 p.m. to the intersection of Renville County Road 12 and 850th Avenue, which is located approximately 2 miles northeast of the city of Sacred Heart.
Investigation at the scene determined that Scott Skalbeck, 51, of rural Sacred Heart was traveling westbound on 850th Avenue when the 2009 Chevrolet pickup he was driving collided with a 2008 Dodge Charger driven by Victoria Ashburn, 47, of Sacred Heart. According to the news release from the Sheriff's Office, both vehicles entered the drainage ditch parallel to County Road 12 after the collision. Ashburn was transported by private party to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar with minor injuries.
Additional agencies responding to the crash included the Sacred Heart Police Department, Sacred Heart Fire and Rescue and Renville Ambulance.
