Cross Country: Willmar girls tie for 2nd, boys 3rd at Moorhead
MOORHEAD -- The Willmar girls cross country team tied for second place and the Cardinals boys team placed third at the Shocky Strand Invitational on Monday.
The Cardinal girls tied with Bemidji at 84 points. Moorhead won the nine-team event with 41 points.
Willmar's Cass Johnson finished in 16:30.5 to place fifth overall. Jenna Truedson, of Bemidji, placed first in 15:27.97.
Willmar's boys team finished with 91 points and placed behind winner Moorhead (28) and Bemidji (79) in the 10-team event.
Willmar's Mowlid Mohamed finished ninth overall in 17:44.2. Glen Ellingson of Moorhead placed first in 16:44.36.
The Willmar boys and girls junior varsity teams won their events, as did the Willmar junior high boys. The Cardinals junior high girls team placed second.
