D. Jean Lussenhop March 5, 1921 - Jan. 21, 2009
REDWOOD FALLS -- D. Jean Lussenhop, 87, of Redwood Falls died Wednesday at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials preferred.
She was born March 5, 1921, in St. Paul to Albert and Lenore (Theiring) Drogosch. She grew up in Redwood Falls and graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1939. She attended Macalester College and the University of Minnesota and graduated from St. Barnabas School of Nursing in 1945.
She married Ross Lussenhop on June 5, 1944, in Redwood Falls. She was a registered nurse at the Redwood Falls Municipal Hospital and was the director of nursing for approximately 10 years. She retired in 1984. She was active in the Girl Scout program and was the recipient of the Girl Scout Golden Eagle award and was a member of Twentieth Century Women's Club and St. Catherine's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children: Tera (and Roger) Elias of Plymouth, Ross II (and Kathy) Lussenhop of Prior Lake, Jill (and Rick) Punch of Daytona Beach, Fla., Jane (and Mike) Hayman of Sauk Rapids, Mary (and Ron) Calhoun of Decatur, Texas, Jack Lussenhop of Redwood Falls, and Dana (and Edward) Garvey of St. Paul; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother.
