Dale Spray Sept. 20, 1948 - July 2, 2009
MILAN -- Dale Beckman Spray, 60, of Milan died Thursday at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital after a four-month battle with lung cancer.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo and for one hour prior to service at the church.
He was born Sept. 20, 1948, in Montevideo to Edward and Bertha (Beckman) Spray. He received his education in Milan Public Schools, graduating in 1968. He attended Willmar Community College for two years and graduated from Southwest State University in 1972 with a degree in physical education. He worked for the Farmers Home Administration for three years and then farmed until the time of his death.
On June 13, 1970, he married Lorrie Rasmussen in Montevideo.
He was a member of the Army National Guard, American Legion Post 359, Kviteseid Lutheran Church, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited and Milan Rod and Gun Club. He was a past Chippewa County Commissioner.
He is survived by his wife; children: Amanda (and fiancé Ira Whitelow) Spray of Vadnais Heights, Nathan (and Heidi) Spray of Milan and Eric (and Hillary) Spray of Milan; four grandchildren; his mother of Milan; and siblings: Douglas Spray of Milan, Paul (and Pattee) Spray of Milan and Eileen (and Paul) Trelstad of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1998 and by one sister.
