Dallas Fischer, age 59, of Lake Lillian died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral services are Monday, March 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at United Lutheran Church in Lake Lillian with Pastor Art Wiese officiating. Burial is in the Community Cemetery in Lake Lillian. Visitation is Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and continues on Monday for one hour prior to the service all at the church.
Dallas Gale Fischer was born March 2, 1955 in Willmar, MN to Leonard and Rosella (Bengston) Fischer and was the oldest of five siblings. Dallas attended grade school in Lake Lillian and graduated from Atwater High School in 1973. After graduation Dallas worked at Hanson Silo until beginning farming on his family's farm in 1987. Dallas not only crop farmed but ran a Dairy for 24 years after which he retired. After selling the Holsteins he continued to farm with his Son and Brother (Richard) in addition to driving semi for Road King Logistics.
Dallas loved children and built a family of three with his wife, Alice (Murphy) Fischer from Fairfax, MN. They were married December 7, 1974 and enjoyed nearly 40 years together. During that time he loved being with Family and Friends and staying active with his hobbies. Most recently, Dallas and Alice loved seeing the country from their Harley with their motorcycle group.
You knew when Dallas entered a room by his booming jolly voice and contagious laugh. He was always happy to hold a conversation with whomever was present whether he knew them or not. One thing was for sure, by the time their visit was over, they knew each other's life story. His kind spirit and easy going attitude will be sorrowfully missed.
Dallas is survived by his wife Alice of Lake Lillian, daughters Lori Fischer-Roiland (Brian) of Willmar, MN and Londa Fischer-Costello (Robert), of St. Cloud and son Darin Fischer (Brandy) of Atwater. He is also survived by his mother Rosella Fischer of Lake Lillian, sister Karen Fischer of Lake Lillian, brothers Roger Fischer and Richard Fischer (Julie) of Lake Lillian and sister Kristi Foltz (Rich) of Lake Lillian and also numerous relatives and friends. Dallas was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Fischer of Lake Lillian, and his Grandparents in addition to his mother and father-in-law Francis and Catherine Murphy.
