Dassel business fire under investigation

LITCHFIELD -- The State Fire Marshal's office, along with the Dassel Fire Department and Meeker County Sheriff's office, are investigating the cause of a Wednesday morning fire that destroyed the Custom Woodcrafters shop in Dassel.

According to a news release from Sheriff Jeff Norlin, county dispatch received a 911 call around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday that the building, along the 900 block of Parker Avenue West, was on fire.

The Dassel and Cokato fire departments were dispatched and arrived to find the shop portion of the building totally engulfed in flames. The structure and contents are a total loss. The amount of the loss is unknown at this time. The building was owned by Howard Page and leased by Lee Anders.

No one was in the building when the fire was reported and no one was injured as a result of the fire.
