EDEN VALLEY -- David Allen Holmgren, 48, of Eden Valley died suddenly on Monday at the Paynesville Area Health Center in Paynesville.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Cornerstone Church in Litchfield. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery near Manannah.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Memorials are preferred.

He was born Feb. 6, 1959, in Litchfield to Edward and Ann (Shoutz) Holmgren, Sr. He grew up in Manannah and graduated from Grove City High School in 1978.

He married Kathy on Aug. 20, 2005, in Manannah. He was a residentual driver for Waste Management in Winstad, and drove semi-trucks over the road in 48 states for many years.

He was a member of the Cornerstone Church, Manannah Snowblazers, and Manannah Horseshoers.

He is survived by his wife; children: Erica Holmgren of Eden Valley, Matthew Holmgren of Eden Valley, (and fiancee Amber Kern) stationed in San Diego, Calif., Murranda Narragon of Paynesville; stepchildren: Amy (and Jason) Bowles of West Fargo, N.D., and Adam Pool of Fargo, N.D.; five grandchildren; his mother of Grove City; brothers: Don (and Julie) Holmgren of Litchfield and Edward Jr. (and Robin) Holmgren of Eden Valley; and a sister: Susan (and Michael) Holthaus of Eden Valley.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.
