Dawson man dead in weekend pickup rollover

MADISON -- A 35-year-old rural Dawson man was pronounced dead at the scene of a one-vehicle rollover crash Saturday evening southeast of Lac qui Parle Valley High School.

According to a news release from the Lac qui Parle Sheriff's office, Stanton G. Nelson had been ejected from his 1998 Chevy pickup after the vehicle rolled several times into a field along 331st Avenue. The crash was reported around 8:50 p.m. Saturday. The location is about six miles southeast of the high school.

The accident is under investigation. Also responding were the Dawson Ambulance, State Patrol and the Department of Natural Resources.
