Dec. 27, 2010: Child in Olivia assault has died, suspect to be charged Wednesday
OLIVIA -- The 19-month-old Olivia child injured last week has died.
According to a news release from the Olivia Police Department, the child victim is identified as Tiana Moore. She died on Friday after being airlifted to Children's Hospital in St. Paul. Her injuries were determined to be "significant" after she was taken by ambulance around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday to Renville County Hospital.
The suspect in the case remains in the Renville County Jail. Criminal charges are expected to be filed by Wednesday.
The person was arrested after authorities received a 911 call that a child was unresponsive.
The police department continues to investigate the case with the assistance of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Renville County Sheriff's office.
