Deline C. 'Dick' Bredeson May 15, 1919 - March 25, 2009
WILLMAR --Deline Clinton 'Dick' Bredeson, 89, of Willmar died Wednesday at St. Cloud Hospital.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Arrangements are by Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
He was born May 15, 1919, in Sacred Heart to Ole and Helmina (Jevne) Bredeson. He grew up in the Renville-Sacred Heart area where he attended country school. He later attended agricultural school. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. During World War II, he was stationed in England and worked as a teletype operator on B-17 aircraft. He was promoted to corporal and received an honorable discharge in 1945. He returned to the Renville area.
He married Evelyn Dammermann on April 21, 1946 in Clara City. They moved to Willmar where he worked for Allied Gas and the City of Willmar. He later delivered flowers for Crown Floral.
He was a member of Vinje Lutheran church and served as an usher. He was a member of the Willmar VFW Post 1639 and the Willmar Legion Post 167.
He is survived by his wife; four daughters: Kathleen Bredeson of Edina, Nancy Bredeson of Grand Rapids, Peg (and Ivar) Siqveland of Walker and Kristy Bredeson of Hopkins; three grandchildren; a stepgrandson; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son: Richard Allen; three brothers; and three sisters.
