Deloris E. Otteson

GLENWOOD -- Deloris Evelyn Otteson, 89, of Glenwood, died Monday at her daughter's home in Anoka.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Starbuck. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Arrangements are by Starbuck Funeral Home.
She was born June 16, 1919, in Pope County to Alfred and Ida (Anderson) Aslakson. She attended rural country school near the family farm and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1938. She later moved to Minneapolis where she worked at the New Brighton Defense Plant.
On Oct. 14, 1944, she married Magnus Otteson. They lived and farmed in Walden Township, where they remained their entire married life. Magnus died Jan. 18, 1971. In 1974, she moved into Starbuck, where she lived until 1988, and then moved to her current residence on Sunny View Drive near Glenwood. She worked various jobs in the area, including Berglands Floral, the dietary department in the Starbuck Hospital and child care for the Mark and Kay Fredrickson family.
She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the ALCW and the local homemakers group.
She is survived by children: Linda (and Gary) Orman of Jamestown, N.D., Darlene (and Dennis) Berg of Anoka and Steven (and Pamela) Otteson of Eden Prairie; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Adeline Dahl of Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by her husband; infant daughter: Marie Opal; and one sister.
