Deloris M. Tengwall Feb. 6, 1933 - April 20, 2009
WILLMAR -- Deloris "Dee" Margaret Tengwall, 76, of Willmar died Monday at Bethesda Pleasantview in Willmar.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Salem Covenant Church in rural Pennock. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born Feb. 6, 1933, in Chicago to O. Arnold and Edith (Danielson) Johnson. The family moved to rural Pennock in 1939. She graduated from Willmar High School in 1950 and attended St. Cloud State Teachers College where she received her teaching certificate. She taught school in Brooklyn Park, Osseo, Princeton and Excelsior.
She married Arlan Tengwall on June 30, 1956, in rural Pennock. They lived in several areas including the Twin Cities, Montana, South Dakota, Texas and Iowa until 1988 when they retired to the Willmar area. They moved to Spicer in 1999 and spent their winters in Arizona, Texas and Florida. She entered Bethesda Pleasantview in July. She was a homemaker, active in the church with choir, ladies circles, and as a Sunday school teacher wherever they lived and was a member of First Covenant Church in Willmar.
She is survived by her husband; children: Debra (and Alan) Bauman of Kerkhoven, Laurie (and Rod) Wahl of West St. Paul, Janine (and Tim) Graham of Farmington, John (and Kristin) Tengwall and Amy (and Tim) Anders all of Woodbury; 10 grandchildren; siblings: Wendell (and Kitty) Johnson of Akron, Ohio, and Phyllis (and Bill) Stewart of Corcoran.
