BUFFALO LAKE - Deloris Stancer, age 81, of Buffalo Lake, formerly of Bird Island and Hector, passed away

Saturday, August 24, 2013, at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector.

Interment in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Bird Island.

Honors will be provided by the Carl O. Potter American Legion Post 135 Auxiliary of Hector and the Thomas Devaney – Collier American Legion Post 430 Auxiliary of Bird Island.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector.

Deloris Irene Stancer was born on February 19, 1932, in Osceola Township by Bird Island, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Henry and Anna (Baumann) Lang. She attended the Osceola Township Country School.

In 1952, Deloris was married to Frank Pfeffer of Bird Island, formally of the Bavarian Forest in Lam, Germany. They had four children. After her first husband’s death in 1962, she raised their four children and put them through school. In 1976, she married Roy Stancer of Hector.

Deloris was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector and a member of the Carl O. Potter American Legion Post 135 Auxiliary.

Deloris enjoyed living on the farm with Roy. She kept busy boarding lots of horses and colts, working with her flowers and large vegetable garden, feeding the birds, and always having her ten grandchildren at the farm, doing lots of babysitting. She enjoyed taking the boat fishing with Roy, and taking the motor home up North with friends and to see her sister Agnes and to feed the deer. They also enjoyed driving the motor home to Tucson, Arizona, in the winter to stay by her daughter Donna. After Roy’s death she moved to Buffalo Lake.

On Saturday morning, August 24, 2013, Deloris passed away at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center, having reached the age of 81 years, 6 months, and 5 days. Blessed be her memory.

Deloris is survived by her four Children: Donna Martinson of Hector, Diane Johnson of Apple Valley,

John Pfeffer and his Wife Jane of Faribault, and George Pfeffer of Bird Island; Grandchildren: Claude Ewer, Kerrie Ewer, Josh Johnson, Noelle Hanson, Amanda Pfeffer, Robert Pfeffer, Jeremy Pfeffer, Chad Pfeffer, and Sarah Pfeffer Bjerke; eight Great-Grandchildren; Brothers: George Lang of Aitken, and Arnold Lang and his Wife Carol of Cosmos; Sister: Agnes Weimer of Aitken; Sister-in-Law: Elvera Lang of Stewart; Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Deloris was preceded in death by her Parents, Henry and Anne Lang, Brother Joseph in infancy, her first Husband Frank Pfeffer, Granddaughter Heather Martinson, second Husband Roy Stancer, Sister Margaret Martin, Brother Donald Lang, Brothers-in-Law Raymond Weimer and Ruben Martin, and Sister- in-Law Sylvia Lang.
