Deputies bust party in rural WIllmar, Minn., arrest host for violating county ordinance

WILLMAR -- Kandiyohi County Sheriff's deputies cited more than 25 people for underage consumption after busting a house party around 11 p.m. Saturday evening at a Dovre Township home.

According to a news release from Sgt. Matthew Akerson, deputies responded to the home, along the 7500 block of 12th Street Northwest, on a report of an underage party. They observed a large number of people at the party, along with a large amount of alcoholic beverages, but no one answered the door.

The home was secured until a search warrant was drafted and served on the residence. More than 50 people were in the home, with more than 25 cited for underage consumption. The party host, daughter of the homeowner, was arrested for the county social host ordinance.

Officers from the Willmar Police Department assisted the sheriff's office during the incident.
