Detour begins Monday on County Road 55

WILLMAR - Weather permitting, a detour will begin Monday on Kandiyohi County Road 55 as crews install a piping system for Willmar's new wastewater treatment facility.

The detour will last for about a month.

County Road 55 will be closed about ¼ mile north from the intersection of County Roads 55 and 15. (County Road 55 had been known as County Road 5 until last year when a section of the highway was rerouted with new construction.)

Traffic north-bound on County Road 55 will be diverted northeast 1.5 miles on County Road 15 (19th Ave SW) to County Road 5 (30th St. SW), then north three-tenths of a mile on County Road 5 and then west nine-tenths of a mile on state Highway 40 to access County Road 55.

Traffic south-bound on County Road 55 will be diverted east nine-tenths of a mile on Highway 40, then south three-tenths of a mile on County Road 5 to County Road 15, and then southwest 1.5 miles on County Road 15 to access County Road 55.
