Detour removal delayed a week on Hwy. 212 near Dawson, Minn.

WILLMAR -- The U.S. Highway 212 detour near Dawson will remain for an additional week, as crews add centerline rumble stripes to the road surface. The Minnesota Department of Transportation said in a news release that the road now will open Tuesday, weather permitting.

The remaining Highway 212 construction near Montevideo will be complete next week and the road will open by Sept. 14, weather permitting.

Duininck Inc. is the prime contractor for the projects, which began in May. Work included grading, paving the road, installing pedestrian accessible ramps and improving traffic signals.

The centerline rumble stripes were a late addition to the project and will enhance motorist safety, MnDOT said.
