Detours on road, bridge projects to begin next week
WILLMAR -- Detours will begin early next week for construction on Kandiyohi County Highway 4 and on a bridge replacement on County Highway 7.
Motorists are reminded to slow down for their safety and the safety of the workers during the projects.
The bridge replacement work is scheduled to begin Monday, weather permitting. The bridge replacement is approximately 0.5 miles north of State Highway 23 in Raymond.
Through traffic will be diverted northeast on State Highway 23, north on County Highway 1 and west on State Highway 40.
The construction zone is closed to all traffic, and the work is scheduled to be completed in a few weeks. Reiner Contracting, Inc. of Hutchinson, MN, is the prime contractor for the project.
Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday on County Highway 4 from 0.39 miles south of County Highway 130 to County Highway 40.
Through traffic will be diverted east on County Highway 98, north on County Highway 2 and west on County Highway 40. The construction zone will be closed to through traffic.
The work includes grading operations and gravel base. Construction is scheduled to be finished in October. Duininck Inc. of Prinsburg is the prime contractor for the project.
